Who We Are

PacWest Sports Institute is a Corona, California 501(c)(3) nonprofit running competitive, year-round travel baseball for youth ages 7 through 13.

Our flagship program, the Corona Avengers, fields 10 teams across seven age groups and serves over 130 players in the Inland Empire. Families bring their own gear, travel, and time. PWSI works to raise as much as possible toward the structural costs that historically gatekeep travel baseball, things like field permits, umpires, tournament entries, and equipment, so that more kids who want to play can get on the field.

The name pays tribute to the Grumman TBF Avenger, a WWII torpedo bomber known for strength, precision, and resilience. Rooted in Corona's aviation history and its identity as The Circle City, every Avengers player reflects that spirit: unique talent, shared purpose.

2025 Season

The year we played our best baseball.

In 2025, our 9U Avengers wore the team across their chests for 70+ games. They finished #1 in Southern California, #3 in the Western States Division, and #32 nationally, capping the season as USSSA 9U AA World Series Champions. The first World Series title in Corona's history.

It is the kind of run that gets noticed. And it didn't come from a single team having a magical season. It came from years of putting the right people in the right spots and committing to player development as a program-wide priority.

Player Development

A team that wins a World Series is the visible part. The work that produces it is the development model underneath.

Every Avengers team is led by coaches who genuinely want to be there. We don't accept everyone who wants to coach, and we don't accept every player who wants to roster. The bar is high on purpose. That's how the program stays a program.

Each age group has multiple proven directors involved at the development level, working with the head coach to oversee individual progress, position fits, hitting and pitching mechanics, and game IQ. Players get more eyes on them, more reps, and more honest feedback than a single-coach travel team can offer.

If your family is curious about the travel ball world but cautious about the cost and commitment of the bigger organizations, the Avengers is a good place to dip your toes in. Same level of competition. Different posture toward the families who walk through the door.

A

Selective by design

Coaches are vetted. Rosters are built deliberately. The standard is the standard, regardless of age group.

B

Multiple proven directors

Every level has multiple director-tier coaches involved in player development, not just the head coach assigned to the team.

C

Built for entry

If your child is new to travel ball, the Avengers is a real on-ramp. Competitive without the cost ceiling and the politics.

D

Year-round development

Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter. Practices Mondays and Fridays, every other Tuesday. Continuous reps, not seasonal cram.
